i'll be home...
little bits of video i took while watching the boys last night.
so happy to spend some time running and laughing and playing with all four of my brothers!
don't judge my shaky filming or 3 a.m. editing too harshly!
i've never really filmed anything with this camera before. so... this was a test run!
merry christmas eve!!

diy: aztec inspired cardigan.
photos and braids done by tori.
what you'll need:
a plain cardigan [thrifted mine for $3]
assorted fabric paints
paint brush
optional: paper, scissors, & dressmaker's marking pencil
what i did:
i used the paper and cut out some shapes i've seen on some other aztec inspired sweaters
laid the shapes out how i wanted them on the sweater
traced them with the marking pencil and added a few other designs
painted it! - you might have to do this in sections since the sweater won't lie flat and you don't want it to smudge or soak through!
have fun!

diy: pouch necklace.
[if you're a facebook fanatic - "like" him over here.]
a few months ago i saw a girl wearing a pouch necklace that was bigger than any of the ones i've seen online. and i just loved it!
so i grabbed my sewing machine, some scrap fabric, and suede cord and made myself one!
and it has just been waiting around to have pictures taken!
i didn't use any pattern, so i can't give much of a tutorial. just wing it!
and now i'm off, in a ridiculously sequined sweater, to a christmas-uglysweater-endoftheworld party!

a glimpse.
last month i hopped on a train and went to nyc with dewey.
i brought my camera thinking that i'd want to take loads of photos. i think i took a total of 40. ha!
sometimes i just don't want to think about or haul around my camera. i just want to be free to frolick!
but here are a few things i captured.
also, thank you, thank you, thank you to craig for letting us stay with him!! you're a great host!

diy: fringe kimono
here's what you do:
go to a thrift store and buy a sheer kimono style robe of your choosing - there are always loads of them.
buy some brush fringe - you can usually find it in the home decor section. i bought mine at joann's.
chop your robe to whatever your desired length is.
fold 1/2 inch around where you cut and iron. repeat again. [to prevent from fraying.]
pin the fringe on top of the ironed fold.
sew in place.
i also chose to alter my sleeves because the fit wasn't right.
and there you go!
